 Ordering Information

 1.  DEPOSIT & PAYMENT: A 50% deposit is required to commission an oil or pastel portrait.  The balance is due before shipping.  Payment in full is required for Vivid Prints. Payment can be made either by check or credit card.

 2.   COMPLETION TIME: Oil, Acrylics and Pastel times vary between 1 – 3 months.  Vivid portraits vary between 1 week to 1 month. The completion of a finished piece depends upon the number of commissions in place at that time.  An approximate delivery time will be discussed with you when the order is placed.  If a specific date is needed, additional fees may be charged.

3.   WHAT’S NEEDED:Portraits commissioned are done from the photos you send. Please send as many as possible as it is helpful when we choose the best photo for your portrait. I only work from the one photo chosen. If the portrait is to be of more than one subject I can compose the painting from single photos of each subject. If you have a favorite photo, I will let you know if it is suitable to work from. Please emailed photos at the highest resolution possible. You can also mail them as prints or on a CD. I will return the prints to you with the finished portrait.

 4.   DESIGN: Once I’ve received your photographs we will discuss portrait style, size and price. The photographs you supply will impact greatly on the portrait I will create. Please review the section below on how to photograph for best portrait results.

5.  WHAT YOU RECEIVE: Pastels come framed up to 22 x 30.  Oil and Acrylic paintings are gallery wrapped canvas.  Vivid portraits come in a digital file.  If you’d like them printed and matted, call for pricing.

 6.   SHIPPING:  We ship via UPS or FedEx within the United States and each painting is packaged with care to ensure its safe delivery. Each piece is insured for its full value. Shipping costs are calculated separately according to size and destination. For Vivid Prints in digital files, we ship world wide via the internet.

What are Vivid Style Portraits?  Vivid Style Portraits are hand drawn with a stylus on an ipad, which is my canvas.  I do not digitally enhance photos, but use the same hand strokes as my oil and pastel paintings.  These are original works of art. Each portrait is hand painted with the thousands of colors available to me on a virtual paint pallet. You receive your portrait in a digital file format with a print release so you can make as many prints and types of items you’d like.

Taking A Good Picture

Here are some easy tips that will help you take the best pictures of you or your pet:

 1. Close up shots filling the frame with you or your pet rather than scenery.  Always take extra close-ups of the face for detail.

2. For pets, take the photographs at your pet’s level.  Get down on the floor with them.

3. Outdoor lighting is best but flash is acceptable. Try to get accurate color. It is very important that the photographs are clear and accurate.

Remember that the finished portrait depends on the quality of the photographs that you choose.
